It’s the holiday season again and the old recipes will soon start flying off the shelf and onto the table. I don’t know about anyone else but when they come off the shelf, I’m all about trying it if it’s something I like. Lots of people boast about their skills when it comes to cooking food, and I’ve been to many dinners at friends’ houses and restaurants that boast and brag about their food and I leave completely dissatisfied or a little nauseated truth be told.
Brothers, I want to share this recipe as a tasty treat for the holidays. It’s not hard at all, you don’t need to be a great cook, and it doesn’t take much time to make. Although this dish is known by mostly everyone, it’s not used nearly enough. The name of this special dish is called “Love”. This recipe is for personal consumption and to share with others.
The ingredients are simple, no need to run to the store, and all you’ll need is to open your heart. Add a: touch of Truth/Honesty to yourself and others (not as you see the truth, but as God sees it). Then add a touch of Compassion/Kindness (the kind that God provides to us daily). Now add a touch of Humility and No Pride. Staying humble in your spirit, knowing it’s not always about you, works wonders. Don’t forget to add a touch of Gratefulness and Gratitude. Being thankful for what you have and be willing to share it. Once you have all those things, mix thoroughly, tasting as you stir it with a smile. Once you have the proper consistency, serve not to just friends and family, but to strangers as well.
You hear people saying everyday “this world needs to change”. What we need to say is “We as a people need to change. There is no shortage of hard times in this world but if we work together maybe we can make it a little easier to get through.
So, in this holiday season and beyond, while you’re out and about, be mindful of these ingredients and serve that Special Dish. You may just change someone’s heart or mindset. May God continue to bless you, your brother in Christ…TMK.
