† Don’t Take the Bait!

There are things in life we all enjoy.  Some of those things are good for us and some are not.  Some of those same things can give us a sense of purpose once we indulge and yet we can find that some things make us feel horrible after our deed is complete.  The good thing about this is—we get to choose what result we want.

Think on this for a minute—if you will.  The world is not exactly as we see it with our natural eyes.  There are forces working behind the scene influencing mankind’s thoughts, their actions, their decisions, and their words and sometimes through no direct fault of our own—we fall prey to it.  But here’s what we can do—“Don’t Take the Bait!” If I desire a different outcome in a certain situation—I can’t continue the same actions.  If I want a different outcome—I have to do something different.  I have to make a choice to keep on moving.

Let me give you an example.  An innocent little mouse one day wanders into your home. He’s hungry, he’s cold, and he just needs to find a place where he can get through this season alive.  He doesn’t know that he’s a rodent and that rodents carry diseases and are not necessarily welcome in your home. So, without his knowledge you come up with a plan to get rid of him. Some would put out poison that would attract him to digest.  Others may choose to set a trap to capture him.  No matter what method is used,  the bottom line is to remove him from your home.

The Bible declares that the enemy does the same to us.  He comes to steal, kill, and to destroy and he will use whatever works to accomplish his desire .  Knowing this, should motivate a wise person to not fall prey to his desire to destroy them.  A smart individual will use that knowledge to ensure they don’t become his next victim.  To put it simply, they “Don’t Take the Bait”.  They will choose to work against him and not with him.

I encourage you to look at the big picture in life and make those decisions that will be a benefit to you and not a burden later.  Don’t be like that little naive  mouse and wander unawares into places or things whose aim is to destroy you.  Think about it—and “Don’t Take the Bait”.
