Maybe I’m not the only person that feels like this, but when I get up in the morning and check the weather and it calls for rain, I dread it. It seems like my entire day is already ruined. Now don’t get me wrong, I know it sounds ridiculous that I have built this mindset over the years and have allowed it to dictate my entire day before it even gets started. I guess you can say—I don’t really care too much for the rain.
When it rains and you have to get out in it—it makes things very messy. It seems to me that people drive more reckless and crazier when it’s raining. I guess maybe everyone is trying to hurry, do what they have to do, and get out of it as soon as possible. I had to face a truth recently and that truth is that rain doesn’t show up just to ruin my day. No. Rain has its purpose.
In some areas of the world, rain just shows up out of nowhere. You’re going on about your day, walking down the sidewalk, the sun is shining and a few seconds later, raindrops are falling. Weird right? But that’s how life is sometimes. With rain—you never really know when it will show up.
It’s important to understand that the real purpose of rain is to cause things to grow. Whether the rain that is currently falling in your life, is in liquid form or not—its purpose is to promote growth. Troubles will come and they will go. Problems show up out of nowhere and can rain on your plans, your life and even on your dreams. They’re not designed to ruin your days or your lives. “Come Hell or High Water” we must see them as opportunities for growth.
God is on our side, and He knows what we need—before we need it. It’s up to us to fight through the rain and grow. Even when it’s raining, we must see rain in a positive light, instead of a negative one. It’s time to understand that rain isn’t something that’s designed to hinder or ruin our day, nor does it show up to hamper our plans and dreams. The rain is designed for our growth.
So, if life seems to be raining things on you—dry your eyes, lift your head towards Heaven and tell God—”Thank you for the rain!” If you be willing to change your mindset and attitude concerning the things that rain on you, then “Come Hell or High Water” you will grow and you will get through them and be better in the end for each and every drop. Don’t despise the rain—began to embrace it and grow. Rejoice that “Even When it’s Raining”—life is still good, and God is still on your side! (Read Philippians 4:4 KJV)
