† God is Waiting to War on Your Behalf

The Bible says…when the enemy shall come in like a flood; the Spirit of the Lord shall lift a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19) This tells me several things. First of all, the enemy is at work and secondly—so is God. When he strikes—God’s Spirit is waiting to war on our behalf.

Go with me for just a moment, if you will. When you think of a flood—what comes to your mind? Lots of water—that’s out of place—right?. In other words—this water is rushing in, uncontrollably and it shouldn’t be there. I think of the storms that have wiped out cities due to flooding. Families displaced and have lost all they once had, and this can be a devasting trauma that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But what about the not so physical storms that come—with a tendency to flood out our lives. These storms are just as devasting—sometimes even worse, because they may not leave any visual evidence that they’ve been there. The victim is still struggling to pick themselves up—dust themselves off and put things back together again.

I don’t know if you have ever suffered anything at the hands of the enemy—but God promises us that His Spirit will fight on our behalf—to fix things for us—if we allow Him to. Many people will tell you that it’s God’s doing when tragedy strikes—but if we could ask Brother Job—he will tell us differently. What we need to grasp and understand is—that regardless of the source—Come Hell or High Water—the Spirit of the Lord will fight for us. We need to remember that whatever the issue is—God can handle it. He will not force Himself into our lives—or make us seek Him for assistance. However, He wants us to know—that if we need Him—He’s there for us and will bring the help we need—when we need it the most. He’s there to help us get through the floods of life. He will dry up the waters of that flood and Come Hell or High Water—with His help, we will soon be on our way.
