Have you ever been working in the yard on a hot day and as soon as you started you wanted to quit because of the heat? Or been fixing on something in or around the house and got frustrated and wanted to quit? But when you don’t quit either of those things that you started, you can sit back when you’re done and be proud of how it all turned out. Well, anyone that knows me will tell you I like a nice-looking yard, a clean car and clean house, so the option to quit for me isn’t there. It’s hard but worth it.
Now let me flip the script, on my Christian brothers. Have you been walking this walk for a while or for a short time, but you’ve gotten tired and want to quit? Do you want to quit because things aren’t working like you thought they would, or things seem to be getting harder instead of easier? You can’t go slam off on the person that cuts you off in traffic or talks bad to you in your face. Tired of that co-worker that’s in everyone’s business but their own and refuses to do their job. Finally, you’re tired of being mister nice guy when it seems the people around you are doing whatever they want to do and getting away with it, and God is constantly reminding you NO, don’t do it.
Staying on the path of godliness is a hard task. One that everyone must make the choice to do, and I know you will all agree when I say—it’s not easy. It’s easier to snap and let it all hang out while feeling guilty and shameful after it’s done. I know, been there, done that and still trying to get better at it—and I have.
I say all that to say this, anything worth having is worth working for. God’s grace and mercies will see us through. Maybe not like we saw it, but we are not Him. The Christian Walk is Hard but Worth It. You might not say it, but it will be said to you. Well done my good and faithful servant. So, hold on a little longer, things will one day get easier. May God continue to bless you, your brother in Christ…TMK.
