† Time to Embrace the New

The stale eventually gets old and it’s time for the fresh and new.  It’s time for a fresh and new outlook, a new hope, a new desire, a new perspective, and a new dream.

I remember growing up in North Carolina as a little girl. There were five children and two parents and a whole lot of needs. I remember my mom would do most of her heavy grocery shopping, once a month.  But in between shopping visits, we seemed to  always run out of milk and bread.  When this happened, we would visit the bakery.  Now, this bakery wasn’t a regular bakery where they baked the bread on site.  No, it was a neighborhood store where they sold their bread at half price.  They sold this bread at half price because it was already a day old. This means it wasn’t as fresh as before—it was  going stale, and stale gets old eventually.

When the Israelites were hungry—God provided them bread from heaven. This supernatural bread was only good for the day. Each family collected just what they needed for that day and what was leftover didn’t go stale—it went bad.  There was no storing it up, carrying it around, rehearsing what they used to have or saving it as leftovers.  No, God wanted them to consume what was needed and then the rest was simply waste.  The following day, God did it again.  He rained down from Heaven fresh bread—new bread for His people to eat.  Day after day after day, God provided the fresh bread they needed in order to survive.

The bible urges us to forget the former things, neither consider the things of old.  God proclaimed that He would do a new thing in our lives.  This is proof that God wants us to stop holding on to the old—and began to make room for the new.  He wants us to forget about all the negative things that have happened in our lives and begin to rely on Him to provide us with fresh outlooks.

We must seek for the fresh God provides, instead of settling for what we’re used to.  We have to Shake “Ourselves” Loose from the old, the past, and the things that have gone stale and are on their way to going bad, in our lives and begin to experience the new.  We must hunger and crave for what God is providing for us now and embrace His daily provisions.

It’s easy to stay depressed, miserable, and enslaved to your negative mindsets—focusing every day on what you think you should have, but that’s not what God’s wants for you.  It takes courage to move past the old and experience His fresh and new.  It’s time to Shake “Yourself” Loose and forget the former things—and begin to collect God’s supernatural provisions for you.  It’s time to make a decision to Shake “Yourself” Loose—today.  (Read Isaiah 43:18-19 kjv)
