Michael Jackson sang a song years ago titled: “You are Not Alone.” Basically, he was saying no matter where you are, or what you’re going through, I’ll be there to help you.

As a man while in the military, I met people and had friends that said the same thing. However, when things got difficult or my money got funny; they disappeared leaving me high and dry, as if they had never said a word.  Like strong men sometimes do, I sucked it up and moved forward mad and even a little hurt, but I got through it.

We’ve all probably been left alone at some point in our lives.  Be it in relationships, marriages, or just by so-called friends that we thought had our backs—till they didn’t.  This post isn’t to make us feel sorry for ourselves.  It’s meant to remind us that we have never been alone.  In Deuteronomy 31:6, God makes it clear, He will never leave us nor forsake us.

If you recall Jesus had friends too, friends that said whatever, whenever, and however—I will be with you.  And they were, until  things got too hard.  When that happened, they bailed and the only person He could really count on was His Father.  Nothing against the disciples, but there are only certain things our friends can help us with, before they leave us feeling alone too.

Got a problem? Be it mental, physical, or spiritual, He’s there without judgement, ready to listen like the good friend He is.  If you’re feeling alone, my advice to you would be to find a quiet place and give your problems to the “Problem Solver”.  That may seem  a little weak to us tough guys, but sometimes we must put that tough guy mentality on the back burner and use our strength to get on our knees and tell it to Jesus. He already knows, but He wants to hear it from you.

So, when life gets rough, when you look left and right for help, only to find there’s no one there, look up because He’s all the help you’ll ever need.  Remember, You are Not Alone.  May God continue to bless you, your brother in Christ…TMK.
