† God’s Property

People spend a majority of their adult lives seeking and searching to have things that belong to them and them alone. Having their own, gives them a sense of achievement. Some desire to own a home or even an expensive car, in order to satisfy that sense of success. Yet others are satisfied with owning real estate or several different types of properties. Most people don’t really mind working hard to achieve the things they desire to have in life. After all—if it’s worth having—it’s probably worth working hard for.

When they finally accomplish their goal, responsible people will take care of what belongs to them. They will do whatever is in their power to guarantee that nothing happens to it. They will provide for it, protect it, and even keep watch over it. Why? Because it’s their property and they’ve invested a lot of time, money, and or energy in achieving it.

The Bible says that God created us in His likeness and in His image. If He made us in His image, to me this means that He took great care in bringing us into existence. He thought about you and created you. You are His masterpiece, and He takes great pride in you being a part of His work.

Truth is—He’s our Creator and we belong to Him. In other words, we’re His property and because of that, He’s just as devoted to taking great care of what belongs to Him, as anyone else would. However, as human beings, being owned by someone else has a negative view attached to it. They will use you and abuse you for their purposes and theirs alone. But God is not like mankind—He takes care of what belongs to Him. He always takes care of what He calls His own.

He’s there for us always no matter what decisions we make or what paths we take. Our salvation is hidden in the fact that we’ve acknowledged His Son and therefore, have been chosen and adopted into the Family of God. You may not feel like you belong or even worthy to be called by His name at times, but you are. Good, bad, or indifferent—you belong to God. You’re His property and He will never turn His back on caring for you no matter what you may do that displeases Him.

You may not have done or even do everything right, but you’re Still Saved. He loves you no matter what. His love is unconditional. You belong to Him, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hold your head up high today regardless of what you have done and remember God’s committed to caring for you—you’re God’s Property and He will continue to save you! (Read Isaiah 43:7; Ephesians 1:5-6 KJV)
